⚾ HHS shutout in final two games of Spring Classic

GARDNER – The Hays High baseball team wrapped up play at Spring Classic in Gardner with a pair of shutout losses Friday. The Indians lost 4-0 to Shawnee Mission North then1-0 to Gardner-Edgerton. Hays goes 0-3 in the Classic and were outscored 6-0 in the three games.

Game 1: Shawnee Mission North 4, Hays 0
The Bison score a run in the first inning after a hit batter and sacrifice fly. They add two more in the second and another run in the fifth.

HHS is held to five singles.

Brendon Stults went the distance on the mound and allowed four runs on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks and took the loss.

Game 2: Gardner-Edgerton 1, Hays 0
The Trailblazers used two walks, a single and fielders choice to score the only run in the top of third.

Lex Lummus had two of the Indians four singles in the game. They grounded into inning ending double plays in the fourth and sixth.

Carter Graham allowed the one run on four hits with two strikeouts and four walks in the complete game effort.
