BUTLER COUNTY —One person died in an accident during a pursuit with law enforcement just after 9:30p.m. Monday in Butler County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Butler County law enforcement was in pursuit of a 2023 Kawasaki EX650 driven by Ignacio Cuanus Morales, Jr., 43 El Dorado, westbound on Towanda.
The motorcycle struck the right rear corner of a 2021 Ford F150 driven by Lisa Maria Diaz, 51, Wichita.
Morales was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Forensic Science Center. Diaz was not injured. Morales was wearing a helmet, according to the KHP. Authorities have not released details on what prompted the chase.
