I am a Hays original, I was born in Hays and have lived here most of my life. I say most of my life because there was a stretch where I lived in Las Vegas, Albuquerque, and Colorado. I became interested in broadcasting in Mr. Wolf’s Radio and TV Class at Hays High in 1981, after graduating from high school that same year I started working at KJLS which was in a mobile home just north of Hays. Now I co-host a morning show on KAYS, work at our Eagle TV outlets on air plus sales, and create commercials for Eagle Radio and TV across the states of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Colorado. I love the business so much and have a passion to share what I know as an instructor of media and computers at Fort Hays State University and NCK Tech. I have a great wife that has been by my side since 1985, married in 1992. We have taken care of kids though the foster care system since 2012, that’s really made an impact on our lives. We’ve learned a lot through the years and the kids have taught us a lot about life.
My hobbies include running… mostly long distance. I love just turning on music and running around town or in the country, and long-distance races sprinkled in. Recently I became an FAA licensed Drone Pilot, If you need video or still pictures taken from the air I’m your guy. As for sports, I love baseball (Royals and Rockies), Football (Pac 12 games and Denver Broncos).
I was born in Seneca, Ks in 1970. I grew up in Beloit, Ks until I graduated from high school in 1988. After graduation it was off to Fort Hays State University in Hays, Ks. While I was attending school, I fell in love with the town of Hays. I soon found a job at a radio station and at the local country bar as a DJ. I continued to work for the station after graduation but I gave up the bar business.
Being on the radio is always something I wanted to do. Growing up I was always listening to the radio. I got my first chance to get behind the microphone when I was in high school. When I heard of an opening at our local station in Beloit, I jumped at the chance. I have been behind a mic ever since then.
When not doing radio I still love to listen to the radio and I listen to a lot of music.
I love to spend time with my wife and two boys.
I grew up on my parents’ farm in Barton County; graduated from Hoisington High in 1988 and Kansas State University in 1992; and married Patrick, my high school sweetheart, in 1993. We lived in Manhattan, Great Bend, Natoma and Victoria before settling in Hays.
The listeners of a radio station form a community. Being able to share music and information with that community is why I’m in radio.

Born and raised in Hays America. A proud Haysian! A 2011 Hays High graduate and current FHSU student. I heard a commercial for the position on the radio and thought it might be destiny so I had to apply.
