Hays receives rain; other areas see hail in Monday afternoon storm

A storm that blew through northwest Kansas Monday afternoon dropped .10 inches of rain on the Eagle Radio Media Center, 2300 Hall.

The K-State Ag Research Center south of Hays reported no rain. However, the research center's report shows Hays receiving .60 inches of rain to date this month, with an anticipated average of 3.34 inches by the end of May.

Residents in Larned and Smith Center reported quarter-sized hail from the storm.

Hill City, Bogue and Stockton reported pea-size hail. 

The National Weather Service reported 50 to 60 mph winds with the system.

Today's forecast for Hays is breezy, with a high of 77. Highs are forecast to be in the 70s through Saturday with no chance of rain.
