WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a homicide in Kansas City, Kansas have identified the victim as 22-year-old Gerald Jones, II, Kansas City, Kansas.
Just before 7:30 p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to a shooting in the 6000 block of Leavenworth Road, according to a media release.
First responders discovered Jones in the parking lot of a business. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
This incident is under investigation by the KCKPD Major Case Unit. Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
This is the seventh homicide of the year in Kansas City, Kansas.
