Natoma Lions Club continues to serve with a myriad of projects throughout the year with emphasis on giving sight to the blind around the world, diabetes awareness, disaster relief, and other projects Nationally and locally. Following the tragic death of Wanda Prowse, a Natoma-Paradise-Waldo USD 399 employee, the club members decided to donate proceeds from their annual pancake supper to the Prowse family.  American Legion Auxiliary Unit 109 members volunteered to help the Lions members in the Saturday evening project, March 2.  Additional volunteers came alongside.

The Natoma community’s acts of kindness in generous donations raised $3,029 for Dan and Colton Prowse during the Natoma Lions Club’s March pancake supper. Local businesses donated $400 to help with the event. Volunteers “flipping” pancakes included Natoma Mayor Rick Dunlap, Lion David Kertz, and Dale Eickhoff, Natoma City Council. The hometown organizations give credence to the Heartland’s heritage of serving others, and the International Lions Club motto: We Serve.
