🥎 Hays falls in two games in Dodge City

DODGE CITY - Hays dropped their second day games in Dodge City on Saturday. The Indians lost the opener 3-2 to Goddard Eisenhower then 13-1 to Maize South. The Indians dropped to 5-5 on the season.

Game 1: Goddard Eisenhower 3, Hays 2
Hays scored two in the top of the first inning but allowed three in the bottom of the sixth to lose 3-2 in the first game of the day.

Lakyn Zimmerman drove in Dezarae Schmidt and Avery Soliday doubled in Riley Dreher for a 2-0 lead in the first inning. 

Three consecutive errors helped set up Eisenhower for the win in the bottom of the sixth.

Aubrey Thomas took the loss allowing three runs, none earned, on three hits while striking out nine and walking three.

Game 2: Maize South 13, Hays 1
Hays had a one run lead through two innings but allowed multiple runs in the next three innings for a 13-1 loss.

Avery Solida hit her first home run of the season to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Maize South scored two in the third, three in the fourth and eight in the fifth for a 13-1 victory.

Riley Dreher started the game and took the loss lasting 2 2/3 innings.
