HPD investigates string of criminal damage reports

The Hays Police Department is investigating a string of criminal damage to property reports after six homeowners awoke Sunday morning to damaged mailboxes.

All six damaged mailboxes occurred on a row of houses on the 1700 block of Henry Street.

According to Lt. Brandon Wright, police responded to a report of  damaged mailboxes shortly after 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Wright said one of the residents reported hearing “loud noises” at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Wright said police have no suspects or witnesses at this time.

The total loss is estimated at less than $1,000.

    Every year same time same place!! School is back in session and look out residents of hays. Maybe patrol should patrol instead if having donuts at 3am. If you would catch and actually get someone in trouble it might help send a message when these college kids return.
