The Hays Aquatic Park is ending the dog-days of summer with the annual K-9 Swim and Play Saturday.

The public is invited to bring their dogs to the pool to swim before the pool is drained Sunday.

Missy Drogemeier of the Hays Recreation Commission said the annual event is fun for the entire family.

“It is something neat and different to do with the family. … For most people, dogs are part of the family, so this is their day to come play,” Drogemeier said.

She said dogs need a leash and proof vaccinations are up to date before they can enter the pool.

The dogs must also be accompanied by someone who is 16 years old or over.

The doggie swim begins and at 11 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.
