Man with concealed gun had to leave Salina theater

Screen Shot 2014-07-16 at 6.33.05 AMSALINA, Kan. (AP) — A man with a legal concealed weapon was asked to leave a Salina movie theater after other customers complained.

Salina police Capt. Mike Sweeney says officers went to the Central Mall movie theater Tuesday when the man became upset when he was asked to leave. The theater reports other customers asked for their money back before the man was asked to leave.

Sweeney says the man had a concealed carry permit and was upset the theater had no signs banning guns. The man cooperated when officers explained that businesses are allowed to refuse service to anyone.

The Salina Journal reports an officer saw the outline of a small handgun in a holster under the man’s shirt.

Sweeney says the man didn’t threaten anyone and no charges are being pursued.

  • A_citizen_patriot

Another citizen being denied his constitutional rights.

    • Chief59

I missed the part of the Constitution where it said we can carry weapons anywhere we want, anytime we want. Owning guns is fine and dandy. However, carrying them at all times is not only unnecessary, but can cause others to perceive a threat.

      • A_citizen_patriot

The part that says keep and bear arms.

        • Chief59

This guy was not denied that. “Bearing arms” in a movie theater is lunacy. Not only that, I highly doubt the framers of this country had anything like that in mind when they wrote the Second Amendment.

          • A_citizen_patriot

I doubt they had the internet in mind, but you still can say what ever you want to on here. It may be lunacy, be he has the right to defend himself no matter where he is.

          • Yahooserious

You can say anything u want on the internet? Write Obama a treatening e mail. I dare you. I’m also pretty sure there are people who have been charges with crimes in the internet suck as slander and there are states who have adopted cyberstalking and cyberharassment crimes. The 2nd amendment is like the 1st. You have the right BUT that right is not all inclusive.

          • Citizen

Businesses also have the right to refuse service to those carrying firearms lawfully or unlawfully.

          • A_citizen_patriot

You sure? According to who? A business owner cant deny service based on his religious rights.

          • alexander

Wait, you classify carrying a gun as a ‘religion’?

          • A_citizen_patriot

Are you really too dense to understand what I was saying?

          • passin_threw

The answer is in the question

          • alexander

I think the confusion has more to do with your wild inconsistency and remedial English.

You argue both sides, depending on what appears easier for you in any given instance, which made the “he” in you sentence somewhat vague. A reader must decide whether you are speaking of the owner or the person being denied.

Because on one hand you say the law is bad and shouldnt be respected, and on the other hand you argue its the law and should be respected.

            Wildly confusing, Pat.

You quote the Second Amendment as a be all, end all, while at the same time seemingly supporting some Big Government Socialist implementation of it whereupon it only applies to a select few of the citizenry who engage in a particular sort of bureaucratic government licensing program.

In fact, it would appear you support the disarmament of a larger percentage of the American populace than your average Democratic Hayspost contributor.

So forgive those of us who can’t keep up with your flip-flopping on the issue, for we know not what you do.

      • good guy with gun69

Absolutely, carrying guns at all times in unnecessary and threatening. The Aurora shooter should have know that and left his guns at home as it wasn’t necessary, or at least left when the theater asked him to do so. Let us know when these types of folks get and follow your advice, and then the rest of us can consider it.
Economists John Lott and William Landes conducted a groundbreaking study in 1999, and found that a common theme of mass shootings is that they occur in places where guns are banned and killers know everyone will be unarmed, such as shopping malls and schools.

        • Chief59

You’re forgetting that mass shootings take place in places where people are gather “in mass”. Schools, churches, malls, etc. Gunmen pick their targets based on where they can inflict the most harm, not where will have the least amount of guns. A lot of the time, that place is somewhere that they have a personal vendetta against.

Funny how you leave out places like Fort Hood, where there are more weapons than you can shake a stick at, but that didn’t stop a massacre, not once, but TWICE.

          • A_citizen_patriot

Most of the service men on base are unarmed.

          • Chief59

Most, not all. There are still more people armed than on your average street.

          • Arch Stanton

If soldiers are carry weapons, I would think that they have no ammunition with them. Also, the Ft Hood shooters were confronted by civilian cops.

          • Wfeather1942

Maybe Chief can quote military regulations on firearms on the base for everyone to back up his lies eh Arch…..

Since it is obvious he was never in the military…..

          • chief96

Military bases are with exception of mp’s and gun ranges, disarmed. If soldiers in ft? Hood had been allowed to carry, there would have been different outcome. So, you can’t shake a stick…where this happened was in essence gun feee . and it was terrorist act, not the typical psychotic mass shooting. Chief, why aren’t you calling for more mental health instead of fewer guns? Take away guns and you are going to have psychotic people with bombs doing the same thing.

          • Chief59

Mental health is a serious issue in this country. However, the only time anyone ever talks about it is when they are trying to distract from a recent massacre. You never hear about it other than that. Also, when politicians talk about mental health after mass shootings, that’s all they end up doing. Talking. No legislation introduced. Nothing.

By the way, I never said take away guns. Plus, guns are easier to get a hold of and use than bombs.

          • Chief69

Why don’t YOU raise mental health, rather than guns, Chief? I can only surmise you want to demonize guns and don’t care about avoiding the real problem. A typical left strategy to exacerbate the crisis so it doesn’t go to waste ( hmmmm who said that). Just like the border invasion…create a crisis toward other goals ( Cloward – Piven).
It is fascinating the number of posts this brings out on guns. Why don’t you lead by talking about mental health, Chief? Cloward -Piven explains most if not all of what is happening.
We are being thrown up against another around other issues …..i.e. the color of the deck chairs, of a ship that is sinking.

          • Chief59

You are putting words into my mouth. I have not demonized guns, only certain gun owners. Certain people should not be allowed to own/carry a firearm. That includes people who have committed a felony, have mental health issues, etc. Mental health is an extremely serious issue, and requiring a mental health evaluation before purchasing a firearm would be great. Mental health has a certain stigma associated with it, and I fear it will never be addressed. This doesn’t just apply to firearms.

However, mental health is not the biggest issue with firearms. You act like it is. Also, why are you making this a left/right issue? It isn’t.

          • passin_threw

Joe, I’m kinda surprised with your paranoia and fear of people carrying guns. Heck when I test drove the bike you were selling on nextech I was carrying and you didn’t even know it

          • alexander

            Doxxing Hayspost users?

Can we not get mods to ban this wretch?

          • Chief59

If he was really doxxing me, he wouldn’t be making up stories about test driving some bike on Nextech. I think he’s just a loon trying to get a rise out of us. Either that, or he honestly thinks he knows who I am, and it’s actually some poor sap. Either way, I ignore him now.

          • passin_threw

Ok you got me. I didn’t test drive the bike you sold. Thanks for the free dirt tho! Have your neighbors mowed their grass yet?

        • FormerHaysResident

That’s an incredibly stupid conclusion. So basically, they choose anywhere except for shooting ranges, police stations, and…I’m guessing…your house?

      • Granny Grunch

Oh sure…until that time when we meet the goblin and we aren’t armed. But,if we think in the irrational and illogical way you seem to think, the bad stuff only happens to Other People. Oh may the All Powerful Diety protect us from the goblins and people like you.

        • Que

^ WTH?? I’m not sure what you’re trying to communicate… Goblins? All Powerful Deity? Bizarre capitalization? Are you needing mental health services?

          • Granny Grunch

I’m sorry…I didn’t realize there were children here using mommies computer. Goblins is the term used to identify those people out there that want to take your stuff or hurt/kill you. WEe can’t use the term god because there are too many people who might take offense . Anything else, sonny?

    • hmmm

      What right was denied, exactly?

      • Arch Stanton

After reading about the baker, I searched and found this item: Federal Civil Rights Act:

The Federal Civil Rights Act guarantees all people the right to “full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations of any place of public accommodation, without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin.”

        • alexander

“race, color, religion, or national origin”

Which of these do you feel applies to the conversation?

          • Wfeather1942

What applies to the anti gunterds rights being violated also eh, oh thats right, nothing!

          • alexander

            Slow down, boy.

          • Wfeather1942

Naw, I want to see the ignorants squeal, how better to get the world to see their true color, YELLOW!

    • Bob Jones

I think you are missing the point A_citizen_patriot.

First, I’m all for the 2nd amendment as well as the right to conceal carry. That being said, I know that those rights don’t trump all others. Your’s or my right to carry a concealed weapon does NOT trump a business owners right to refuse service to anyone. If the business owner chooses not to serve those who legally conceal carry, that is within their rights. If you don’t like it, take your business elsewhere. From the descriptions provided in the article, the business would have lost less revenue if the citizen concealing and carrying would have been denied at the door prior to getting in. If I were that business owner and to avoid further confusion, I would post a sign stating banning guns immediately.

      • A_citizen_patriot

First off, a business does not have the right to refuse service to anyone. I don’t disagree with the rest of your post. My point was he has the right to conceal carry, the business kicked him out for it. So he was denied that right. Im not saying what they did was illegal only unfortunate that they took that route.

        • alexander

“First off, a business does not have the right to refuse service to anyone.”

          You’re kidding, right?

          • A_citizen_patriot

Oh so they can deny service to gay couples?

          • alexander

If I understand correctly, according to you, no, they can’t. Right? That IS what you are saying, for the record?

          • A_citizen_patriot

What im saying is that according to several court cases you cannot refuse service to gays based on your religion. So according to that, no a business cant refuse service to anyone for any reason.

          • FormerHaysResident

“to gays”? Jesus. Can I borrow your time machine? Seriously. Just for an afternoon.

          • FormerHaysResident

Is it wholly surprising that A_Citzen_Patriot has never noticed (and likely…rarely obeyed) the “No Shirt No Shoes No Service” signs in convenience stores?

      • observer

a business can refuse service to anyone?? tell that to the bakery that wouldn’t do the cake for the gay wedding. I think the theater made the mistake by not posting the policy. places that post against concealed carry do not get my money. they can have their standard, I have mine

  • Just the Truth

If the gun was properly concealed, no one should have noticed he even had it with him… So technically it was not concealed.

    • A_citizen_patriot

He could have dropped something and bent over to pick it up.

      • Chris

        That darn slippery soap…

    • A_citizen_patriot

It says that a cop saw the outline of the gun. So it was still concealed.

      • Arch Stanton

The article said another movie goer noticed it. Most people would probably not recognize a “printed” sidearm, so, somehow, it must have become visible, which was his mistake. If it were truely concealed, no one should have known he was carrying. You clothing choice must be dictated by your carry arm.

  • backhoe

As of July 1 isn’t open carry legal in Kansas? If so, this person was well within their rights.

    • Just the Truth

Open carry = you cannot attempt to conceal. If he walked up with a firearm on his belt, easily seen (open carry), then most likely the theater workers would have denied him service prior to him upsetting other theater attendees.

  • Rocket Science

If you have your Conceal Carry you can legally carry the gun anywhere that is not posted. However every business has the right to refuse service to anyone and also ask them to leave. They go over this in the course you take to get the Conceal Carry License. Apparently this gentleman didnt pay very close attention in class.

  • Darwin

Another establishment I won’t be spending money at.

    • granny punch

If you need to bring a gun to a movie theatre to feel safe, stay at home with your blinds drawn and watch a movie by yourself.

      • Herbert

I prefer blinds up. But I like to live on the wild side.

  • cowgirl

Too bad he and a few other concealed carriers weren’t in the Aurora theater in 2012.

    • Chief59

Why? So that even more casualties would have resulted. The theater was dark so the gunman was able to fire openly without having to worry about anything but hitting as many people as possible. Someone attempting to stop the gunman would have been trying to avoid being shot, while attempting to hit the actual shooter in a dark theater.Someone else having a gun does not necessarily equate a better outcome.

      • A_citizen_patriot

So the cops should have disarmed before showing up? You cant assume that there would have been more casualties. Theaters are still lit enough to allow people to move threw isles without hurting themselves.

        • Chief59

You can’t assume that a handful of concealed carriers would have stopped the shooter.

          • A_citizen_patriot

No but we do know what happened when there were no armed citizens. People have the right to defend themselves. They may not have been able to stop him, but they have the right to try.

          • Arch Stanton

You cannot assume that they won’t!

      • Granny Grunch

You,dude, seem to have a problem with guns and I don’t know why we bother responding to your feeble arguments against them but in a certain situation when there is a nut with a gun wanting ti shoot everybody, isn’t better to have A chance for survival or NO chance? Since you probably are a liberal, this last mat be a little confusing. But,thank you for sharing your thoughts with us,no matter how dim they may be.

        • Chief59

I would absolutely love for you to find one post where I have ever said anything about limiting the number of guns. Ask a_citizen_patriot. We’ve gone around on this issue dozens of times, and I’ve never made the argument for less guns. Limiting access for felons, people with mental health issues, and carrying an arsenal in public? Yeah, I’ve argued against all of that.

I love how people like you always want to make it and “us against them” thing. Liberals versus conservatives. We are all Americans, we just have differing opinions. Maybe you should try to make an argument with more substance than just “liberals are dumb”.

          • Granny Grunch

          • granny punch

Good one granny grunch, strong argument all around.

          • Arch Stanton

Your recent arguments against legal concealed carry in the theatre are without substance and are based solely on conjecture and opinion.

      • Wfeather1942

Isnt it amazing how all these incidents in gun free zones, it did end up with a great result, a 6.75 times lower body count than where no resistance occurred, but your to stupid to accept irrefutable facts!

Still waiting on you insane anti gunterds to post all your horror stories, we havent all millenia numbnut!

          • Wfeather1942

Yet you have no facts to disprove all those government facts, try not to be such an obvious Brady Bunch anti gunterd shill!

          • Yahooserious aka psychonuts

Doubt even the NRA would claim this guy, chief. Probably belongs to a white supremacy group in Arkansas or Tennessee.

          • Wfeather1942

Then prove the data wrong moron….we havent all millenia…especially your proof that facts are crazy………

Oh wait, only Saul Alinsky devotees live to play Rule #5, demonize and character assasination anyone who gets in your way (especially the ones with facts), got it!

Aw, the pathetic Saul Alinsky Rule #5 demonize & character assasinate that which you cant prove wrong, what a moron!

          • Free Thinker

You are proving me right, I don’t have to. Sad old sack.

          • Wfeather1942

So lets see you have provided government data to prove the above wrong…hmmmmm, I still have 20-10 vision and I dont see it, where did you post it moron?

          • Free Thinker

Government data is not required for you to prove that you are insufferable. THAT is what you have been proving. Have a great Friday!

          • Wfeather1942

No, government data is required to prove me wrong, and since you are mentally deranged comparing a government fact & data based beating of your position as insufferable, we suggest you go find a psychiatrist to help ease your angst and pain cause unless you start paying us to solve your insecurities of your limited intellect, you really do need to go find professional psychiatric help sweety!

      • Arch Stanton

You make a hypothetical argument that guarantees the attacker will continue the attack unabated. You cannot DISPROVE that legally carrying Citizens could have neutralized the threat quickly.

  • Who Cares really!

Everyone was within there rights in this case, He can get a permit for a concealed carry handgun and the business can refuse to serve him because he is carrying a handgun. Welcome to America…..everyone was in the right…..yah :)

  • Arthur Doyle

    Much ado about nothing.

  • JG

Maybe this is a sign that the general public is taking a stance against the ever growing possibility of gun violence.

    • Granny Grunch

Tell that to the inner city folks who commit all your “gun Violence” and that lovely group known as the bloods in Jersy City who are threaten revenge against all police for the shooting of one of their dear brothers…who had just ambushed a policeman and killed him as he sat in his car.

      • Physonuts

Case in point. The cop had a gun. Didn’t do him much good did it.

        • Wfeather1942

So disarm cops as they can be trusted based on one incident right!

Hey maybe you should go talk to this criminal lover of yours as his intended victim took his gun away and shot him, so all criminals should be disarmed right moron!

Hey maybe you can ask this bad guys about what happens when he tries to rape a woman, and then she takes his gun and blows his wanker off eh moron.

Man it has happened twice, better get right on banning criminals as you inferring they were perfect and never missed is a pathological lie, but then you are an inherent pathological liar!

          • Psychonuts

Uh apparently u didn’t read the news, “moron”. The crook took it from an ARMED security guard. Then Killed the cop with it. Yes, criminals are my lovers. Lol. I love the anger from you survivalist types. No wonder the ATF and FBI are constantly after y’all. Funny stuff.

Proof read before posting, man. Your reply to my post is kind of incoherent.

          • Wfeather1942

Apparently you arent American otherwise you could comprehend the statement made in simple clear english, BASED ON YOUR IDIOTIC BELIEFS BECAUSE HE TOOK THE GUN FROM AN ARMED GUARD THEREFORE ALL POLICE AND ARMED GUARDS SHOULD BE DISARMED!

Please try and keep up there imbecile!

          • Psychonuts

Yes that’s exactly what I said. Lmao. Instead of studying and twisting government “facts”. You should try reading comprehension. They teach it in college, bro.

          • Wfeather1942

Instead of sucking, swallowing and blowing, maybe you should post the government data to disprove the above and below government data, oh wait, that would require an IQ above 0, your SOL!

          • Gun supporter

It’s funny how you try to be collected and fact-oriented on some of your posts until someone contradicts you, then you turn into a 16 year old kid on XBox live: berating people’s intelligence and going straight for a sexual reference instead of continuing an informed conversation. Way to give your “cause” gravitas.

          • Wfeather1942

Contradicts me with what, hot air, unsubstantiated claims, its all PATHOLOGICAL LYING ANTI GUNTERDS HAVE!

So how about one of you idiots act like a real adult for once and provide actual GOVERNMENT DATA to disprove all that above and below!

You too stupid to do that, apparently!

    • Wfeather1942

So when are you anti gunterds ever going to prove that it is law abiding gun owners responsible for the majority of violence rather than the 97.3% of all killings by illegal use of a gun being committed by career criminals, gang members, suiciders, crazies like you, and domestic violence abusers as per US GOVERNMENT DATA eh sunshine!

  • Granny Grunch

Our brother is going to have to buy more appropriate clothing in order to prevent the antigun psychotics from seeing what is causing them to whimper and cringe and scream for their mama. I also would not refrain from going back to that theater…that is “in your face” and “up yours” mode.

    • Psychonuts

So he’s your “brother” cause he has a consealed firearm? Man, your the type who scare me. Just cause you have a gun doesn’t mean you have to take it everywhere. I think well see alot more of the movie theatre’s stance than those business’s that will allow it. I’m perfectly comfortable with weapons, however, the general public is not. So be prepared to be “discriminated” against when you go somewhere with your “precious” little hand gun.

I know how all u gun nuts feel. The world is out to get you and every business you walk into is a potential death trap unless you have that weapon on you. Paranoid survivalists allowed to pack all the heat they want, sanctioned by law. Scary stuff.

      • Guest

No kidding. GG, presumably armed, is now bragging about how he’d like to go into the theater now to start a confrontation. Because he feels his rights are being trampled. Consider this if your high school-aged son, daughter, niece or nephew is working at that theater and has to talk down an armed and unstable individual like GG, who is itching for a fight in his “in your face” and “up yours” mode? Scary stuff!

GG, do me and the rest of the gun-loving and CC-licensed world a favor and shut it. Your not helping the cause one bit with your unbalanced rants.

        • Granny Grunch

Right on…spoken like a true antigun troll. What else do you have for us?

          • Guest

Sorry GG, I own plenty of guns. CC holder. Veteran who loves to shoot relationally. I’ve taught my kids how to handle, shoot and maintain them as well.

All I have to offer is responsible firearm ownership and reasoned arguments. I’ll leave crazy proclamations up to you.

          • Wfeather1942

So lets see all your demonstrations of law abiding gun owners going psycho sunshine, all we hear from you elmeruss fuddus is WHAT IF WHAT IF, which in the sane world is never sufficient reason to take away peoples rights because you are a scared of the dark!

      • Arthur Doyle

I realize your post was a response and sometimes responses can become tempestuous. The two valid points you had in your third and fourth sentence of your first paragraph were overshadowed in the second paragraph when you exposed your sciolism. The second paragraph was pugnacious and did nothing to strengthen your argument.

      • Granny Grunch you have done it… have hurt my feelings and just for that I’m taking my putor and my deflated ego someplace where we don’t have to joust against brains which are dumber than windmills. Pls don’t talk about me after I’m gone. Adios, pendejos….

        • Psychonuts

Brains dumber than windmills? Lol. Okay. Well at least windmills have a purpose and they work to serve that purpose. Your brain, not so much. But it’s okay. You can compensate with a gun and holster. Make sure you clp and break free it a lot. Exercise those mag. Springs. Want that brain to work when you need it.

Lets identify who exactly is responsible for the majority of that violence first.

For several decades, studies have been conducted on crime and causalities by various bodies including major universities, criminologists and even the U.S. Department of Justice.

These studies have found that approximately 80% of all crime is committed by 20% of all criminals.

Some of the studies have provided slightly different numbers but all of them have found that a small group of criminals commit a vastly disproportionate number of crimes than their peers.

    Wolfgang et al ., 1972;
    Petersilia et al ., 1978;
    Williams, 1979;
    Chaiken and Chaiken, 1982;
    Greenwood with Abrahamse, 1982,
    Martin and Sherman,1986.

“Gun Violence Significantly increased by social interactions”

Andrew Papachristos, an associate professor of sociology at Yale, analyzed police and gun homicide records from 2006 to 2011 for people living in a high-crime neighborhood in Chicago. He found that 41 percent of all gun homicides occurred within a network of less than 4 percent of the neighborhood’s population, and that the closer one is connected to a
homicide victim, the greater that person’s chances were for becoming a victim. Each social tie removed from a homicide victim decreased a person’s odds of becoming a victim by 57 percent.

“What the findings essentially tell you is that the people who are most at risk of becoming a victim are sort of surrounded by victims within a few handshakes,” Papachristos says. “These are young men who are actively engaged in the behaviors that got them in this network.”

The network in question consists of more than 3,700 high-risk individuals – young, African-American males from a poor neighborhood – who were clustered into a network by instances of co-offending, meaning each
person in the group had been arrested with another person.

Overall, the community’s five-year homicide rate was 39.7 per 100,000 people, which was still much higher than the averages of other areas of Chicago (14.7 per 100,000). But being a part of that network of
co-offenders, essentially just being arrested, raised the rate to by nearly 50
percent, to 55.2 per 100,000. What’s more, being in a network with a homicide victim increased the homicide rate by 900 percent, to 554.1 per 100,000.

“You’re at a risk for living in this [certain] community, but if you’re in the network, your risk is astronomical,” Papachristos says. “That rate is beyond epidemic proportion, that’s actually scary.”

Recidivism rates being over 40% as well!

    2.7 mil prisoners

    1.4 mil active gang members

    2.5-3.5 mil active criminals

1.043 mil plus open felony warrants

Hence add in the career criminals.

CDC -Suicidal people speak for them-selves as suicide is a felony.

Shall we review police firearm discharge reports in Chicago and NYC where between 76-80% of those involved in shootings, both shooter and injured
were both involved in criminal activity at the time of the incident.,,

Yeah, review of all the govt. data above shows over 96% of all killings by illegal use of a firearm are committed by career criminals, gang members, suiciders & crazies w approximately 50% of the remainder due to domestic violence incidents.

A sane person would normally address the largest problem first don’t you

    • Wfeather1942

      Oh you want numbers, ok!

Since suicides are illegal, murder is illegal that means accidental deaths, justifiable homicides and the % of murders not committed by
FELONS or any of the other 9 categories of people banned can be removed from the 31,084 total, which as noted in the multiple USDOJ studies and reports 80% of the most violent crimes are committed by career criminals, gang members.

Do the numbers now that you have the premise, here are the numbers for 2011.

31,084 killings by use of gun
      9,892 murders
      19,766 suicides
591 justifiable homicides (209 by civilians using a gun, 270 total)
      835 accidental deaths

      ((9,892 x .8)+19,766)/31,084 -(591+835) = 27,860/29,658 = 93.9%.

Oh darn, forgot the FBI not reporting the correct number of justifiable homicides, so since 209 justifiable homicides were by firearm alone
      by civilians, 5 times 209 = 1,045.

      So 29,658-1,045 = 28,613

      Redone = 27,860/28,613 = 97.3% darn, that’s more than 96%, my

  • Wfeather1942

Of course anti gunterd morons never do remeber or admit that settled codified law makes 85% of all gun control laws NOT APPLICABLE AS A PUNISHMENT AGAINST CRIMINALS!

Haynes vs. U.S. 390 U.S. 85 1968 where the US Supreme Court ruled 8-1 in favor of Haynes that any law requiring a felon to self incriminate themselves and violate their 5th amendment rights was not enforceable as a charge for prosecution.

Hence criminals don’t have to follow 85% of the existing gun control laws that do so, e.g. your stolen weapons, registrations, background checks etc….

Amazing how the criminals don’t have to obey these laws yet only law-abiding citizens do? This just validates the hypocrisy that laws affect only the felons!

After all, 22,417 gun control laws and we see how effective a piece of legislation is at stopping violence because if it did, there wouldn’t be ANY VIOLENT CRIME.

But anti gunterds will use their magic fairy wand and sprinkle some magic fairy dust and wish for bad guys to obey the laws now eh, ROTFLMFAO!

“The reason the ATF doesn’t make it a high priority to target people who attempt to buy a gun from the gun dealer is they spend the majority of their time targeting violent offenders who use guns illegally,” said Mike Brouchard, the former assistant director for field operations of the ATF. “By taking that person and arresting them it has little to no impact on violent crime.”

  • Wfeather1942

BATF prosecutes less than 1% of the 2.056 mil rejected since 1997.

BATF doesn’t do anything about the 95.52% of bad guys (21 mil + since 1997) who don’t even try to buy from a licensed source to begin with.

BATF doesn’t allow civilians access to NICS for background checks on private sales.

BATF out of 139,651 rejected in 2010 only prosecuted 44, 26 straw buyers, 11 felons, 7 domestic violence abusers, no crazies.

BATF let over 297,577 straw buyers pass the background check and buy over 446,363 guns in 2010 (over 2.23 mil+ since 1997)

Govt. refused to resource to input the mentally ill & felons into NICS database with only 4.865 mil severely mentally ill and felons in NICS database as of Mar 2013 while there are over 31.793 mil of both in the US.

Govt. refuses to resource people and moneys to pursue the 1.043 mil + people wanted on open felony warrant of whom 50% are probably severely mentally ill as are 50% of current 2.7 mil prisoners.

Man them are some nasty loopholes the government & BATF have created.

          • Wfeather1942

An ad hominem (Latin for “to the man” or “to the person”[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument.[2] Fallacious Ad hominem reasoning is normally categorized as an informal fallacy,[3][4][5] more precisely as a genetic fallacy,[6] a subcategory of fallacies of irrelevance.[7] Ad hominem reasoning is not always fallacious, for example, when it relates to the credibility of statements of fact.

Hence it is not an error to use and ad hominem response, when all one has to support their claims, are lie, damned lies, and pathological lies like anti gunterds do!

  • Wfeather1942

We have found the perfect solution for suicide in the US, all based on your progressive kommies penchant for everyone shares responsibility for everyone else’s actions! This based on a N Korean defectors response to what is the suicide rate in N Korea!

North Korea is known to be the country with the lowest suicide rate on earth. Why is this, for this nation with the worst world economy, human rights violations, and highest number of defectors in the world? It is because there is a mental pressure far stronger than suicide itself.

North Korea defines, “Every citizens of DPRK is a family member of ‘Kim Il Sung People’ and a child of ‘Ocean-like Kim Jong Il comrade’.” Because of this, every citizen is a member of this larger society; therefore, committing suicide is considered a treason, marking the person as a traitor to the leader, the party, the nation, and the people.

If someone in your family committed suicide, everyone in the family gets purged by North Korea’s infamous IMPLICATED CRIME LAW.

This is why a North Korean citizen can end his/her poor life by starving/freezing/beaten to death, but not suicide. However, even with this kind of strict and unforgiving social pressure on suicide, some people kill themselves with much contempt for their government.

Suicide may let the dead rest, but the rest of the family would be socially and politically ostracized for the rest of their lives, with no hope for success or career.

So in reality, you anti gun nuts should be all over this kind of law, punish those not responsible, collectively, the kommie lovers way.

Convictedof suicide or violent felony, your entire family will never have welfare, food stamps, free school, no citizenship, etc, etc…no trial to decide this, automatic and no repeals!

That would be a constitutional law as we already see law abiding people not guilty of committing a crime being taxed, registered, banned because of the criminals actions.

So when are you anti gun nuts going to buy into such an obvious good law that would reduce suicides and violence in just a couple months time eh?

    • Laughable

Yes because everything that comes out of North Korea is fact. Ask Denis Rodman. I’m sure he will back u up. Dude, give up man. Your only hurting your own cause. Wow!

Psychiatrists Explain Why Disarming the ‘Mentally Ill’ Won’t Prevent Mass Murders

    Jacob Sullum|Oct. 16, 2013 6:47 pm

Wow, another psychiatrist, this one at left wing paradise HARVARD says it simply……

No one wants a dangerous person to have a weapon. But our mental-health system simply can’t be the last line of defense.

There are just too many mistakes.

Potential victims need to be able to defend themselves.

I see the classless class of Hays Post are working both sides of a hot button topic.

    • Wfeather1942

      Aw, elmeruss fuddus is back!

      • Please go away

After reading all of your posts, I have come to the following conclusions: you’re convinced all democrats are evil people, all serial killers were democrats, anyone who doesn’t immediately stand up for you and agree with you word for word is an anti gunterd, you came up with and are very proud of the phrase elmeruss fuddus and you use it as an insult randomly, and you are a former military member (thanks for the service) that should not be allowed to hold a gun due in large part to your deteriorating mental faculties combined with your desire to assert your dominance.

        • Wfeather1942

Still no facts eh, what a dumfukk!

  • Arch Stanton

So, after the legally concealed carry guy was thrown out, the vicious, disturbed, doesn;t care about the law guy, draws from concealment and opens fire on the now defenseless crowd!!!!

    • alexander

      Cool story.

That didn’t actually happen though, did it?

      • Wfeather1942

Did in Aurora CO or any other gun free zone though didnt it!

Especially that part about a psycho not caring about the law opening fire on the defenseless crowd thingy eh!

        • alexander

A “legally concealed carry guy” was thrown out of the theatre in Aurora?

          • Wfeather1942

Sarcasm, they banned law abiding gun carriers, but not crazies and criminals!

      • Arch Stanton

No….just a hypothetical of what could have happened because people are for fearful of law abiding Citizens carrying firearms. Seems people are just so afraid of guns…any guns…ALL guns….that they cannot even be in the same room with them. And they think that anyone with a gun is the bad guy.

  • Wfeather1942

Was looking at the Bill of Rights and didnt see anything in there that pertained to a legal justification of a couple panty peeing anti gunterd movie goers rights being violated in any fashion, why is that anti gunterds?

  • Wfeather1942

What we have here, is a list of serial murderers, all democrats…78 out of 248 total serial murderers caught in the US.

At current population levels, this means that if you are near, next to, standing by, or associating with a democrat you are 3.21 times more likely to be killed!

    It is the simple reality!

Now since these particular democrats arent likely to be law abiding concealed carry people, why is it that everyone isnt scared to death of being near such proven blood thirsty heathens as democrats eh?

  • Wfeather1942

Oh wait, even the AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT admits their gun control of only the LAW ABIDING hasnt resulted in a decrease in murder suicides!

The Australian Institute of Criminology’s National Homicide Monitoring Program (NHMP) has monitored homicides in Australia since 1989. NHMP data indicate that homicide, followed by the suicide of the offender either immediately after or within a short period of killing one or more victims, is a relatively infrequent event.

Out of the total number of homicide incidents recorded by the NHMP (n=5,486), six percent (n=343) are classified as murder-suicides and 80 percent of these occurred in the context of intimate and/or family relationships.

The most common type of murder-suicide in 2006–07 was that involving a parent killing their children (38% of murder-suicides) followed by intimate partner homicide (31% of murder-suicides). Eighty-two percent of murder-suicides in 2006–07 involved one offender and victim only.

The remaining 18 percent involved one offender and multiple victims. The DATA shows that there is no statistically significant trend in multiple-victim murder-suicides, with numbers fluctuating between a low of zero during 2001 and a high of seven during 2003.

  • Wfeather1942

Totally unbeknownst to anti gunterds, Australian academics have already
examined the mass murder rate by firearm by comparing Australia to a control country: New Zealand. (Do they teach “control groups” at Harvard?)

New Zealand is strikingly similar to Australia. Both are isolated island
    nations, demographically and socioeconomically similar.

Their mass murder rate before Australia’s gun ban was nearly identical: From 1980 to 1996, Australia’s mass murder rate was 0.0042 incidents per 100,000 people and New Zealand’s was 0.0050 incidents per 100,000 people.

The principal difference is that, post-1997, New Zealand remained armed
to the teeth — including with guns that were suddenly banned in Australia.

While it’s true that Australia has had no more mass shootings since its gun ban, neither has New Zealand, despite continuing to be massively armed. . . .

  • Wfeather1942

Oh wait, what does our Australian cousins down under say about gun buy backs…..lets look!

The 1996-1997 National Firearms Agreement (NFA) in Australia introduced strict gun laws, primarily as a reaction to the mass shooting in Port Arthur, Tasmania, in 1996, where 35 people were killed.

Despite the fact that several researchers using the same data have examined the impact of the NFA on firearm deaths, a consensus does not appear to have been reached. In this paper, we reanalyze the same data on firearm deaths used in previous research, using tests for unknown structural breaks as a means to identifying impacts of the NFA. The results of these tests suggest that the NFA did not have any large effects on reducing firearm homicide or suicide rates. (JEL C22, K19)

This paper takes a closer look at the effects of the NFA on gun deaths. Using a battery of structural break tests, there is little evidence to suggest that it had any significant effects on firearm homicides and suicides. In addition, there also does not appear to be any substitution effects—that reduced access to firearms may have led those bent on committing homicide or suicide to use alternative methods.

Since the 1996 Port Arthur massacre, two other shooting incidents have attracted much media attention in Australia. An incident on October 21, 2002 at Monash University, in which a gunman killed two people and wounded five, prompted the National Handgun Buyback Act of 2003.

Under this scheme that ran from July to December 2003, 70,000 handguns were removed from the community at a cost of approximately A$69 million.

Another shooting on June 18, 2007, in which a lone gunman killed a man who had come to the aid of an assault victim and seriously wounded two others in Melbourne’s central business district during morning rush hour, renewed calls for tougher gun controls.

Although gun buybacks appear to be a logical and sensible policy that helps to placate the public’s fears, the evidence so far suggests that in the Australian context, the high expenditure incurred to fund the 1996 gun buyback has not translated into any tangible reductions in terms of firearm deaths.

  • Wfeather1942

By the way, what is a country, with gun bans suicide rate vs the US?
Australia has 1/100th of our firearms, so they should have 1/100th of our
suicide rate, uh dude, their 2010 suicide rate is 11.14 per 100k people.

What about murders, lets compare that as well.

    1996 Australia 1.7 murders per 100k people 2011 1.08 murders per 100k
    people a -36.5% reduction

    1996 US 7.4 murders per 100k people 2011 4.7 murders per 100k people a
    -36.5% reduction.

How is it again, that a country with a 42% increase in civilian firearm
ownership and 100 times more firearms in law abiding civilian hands than
Australia, have the same reduction in murders as they did?

Now if one breaks it down into weapons used if you take and look at the
normal trend, one see’s Australia reduction in murder by illegal use of
firearms only reduced -4.41% from 1996 to 2011, the US from 1996 to 2011 was reduced -26.5%.

    • Wfeather1942

Oh wait, you forgot to mention the increases in weapons being used to commit murders or VIOLENT CRIME which the Australian government acknowledges in their reports, and reflect that indeed as
noted, more WEAPONS and more KNIVES are being used to commit a crime REPLACING the use of a firearm.

But hey dont let govt. FACTS get in the way of your fantasy.

Since you already have a functioning link to the Australian crime database, you can try and refute their data again!

      “A Transcript of the Police Interview With Martin Bryant” http : // loveforlife . com . au / content / 07 / 10 / 30 / transcript-police-interview-martin-bryant

Funny, how even before 1996, you needed a LICENSE to purchase a firearm, yet the Port Arthur killer didnt have one, yet that is somehow the LAW ABIDING GUN OWNERS FAULT AGAIN EH?

So without the Port Arthur killings using a firearm only 65 occurred in 1996, which was 40 in 2011, wow thats impressive, NOT.

Geez, didnt the Port Author killings occur in 1996 making a spike in their killings, yeah it did. So is it a true reflection upon normal crime trends to add that anomaly/spike into the trends as a rational comparison to see what effect a law had on a result, no it isnt!

See that is where the gun banners like to use % to look impressive and quote the % of firearms used in murders has dropped SO DRAMATICALLy.

      Lets see 311 murders, 65 using firearm in 1996 65/311 = 20.9%
Lets see 244 murders, 44 using firearm in 2011 40/244 = 16.39%

Amazing how when one digs into the details, the ACTUAL TREND for reduction in killings using a firearm is rather puny!

Yet the number of assaults with weapons keeps rising, hmmmm. Sure appears that the level of violence isnt being reduced, but just luck of the draw some of those arent killings, so sad.

Oh and as noted in GOVT. and recorded history, there was indeed a NASTY gang war going on in the 1980’s to early 2000’s. Has that ended matey, oh yes, it has hasnt it.

Oh whats this page #31,Homicide in Australia: 2007–08 National Homicide Monitoring Program annual report

“…………. The majority of firearms used in homicides were unregistered and/or unlicensed” hmmm, such a consistent trend all over the world that the bad guys dont obey the law to begin with!

All the while also refusing to acknowledge the effect of the baby boomers age subgroup as it affects crime rates. Geez, you Aussies had the Baby Boomers (born 1947-1964) also didn’t you,
      yeah you did!

Criminologists the world over all agree the most active criminal ages are 15-24 and 25-34, then the criminal activity declines the older a subgroup gets. Amazing how that actually mirrors identically the trend in murders DECREASING, a trend that Australian government
shows began occurring back in the mid 1980’s and continues to this day. Not to mention the ending of those gang turf battles.

Hence yet again, no valid proof that gun control had anything relevant to causing that reduction in murders., a near 42% drop in actual murders using a firearm in the US versus a 39% drop in
murders using a firearm in Australia. Uh dude, there is no statistical
difference is there, geez shuckey darn! Yet again proof that less firearms doesn’t equal less violence, much less more guns equal more violence BS.

      You were saying?

  • Wfeather1942

Geez, just horrible more data, FROM ANOTHER GOVERNMENT (one of many) which bans guns, showing how gun control of the law abiding has failed to reduce violence by the criminals (as all of them do), and still not one single one of you can..

    1) demonstrate the law abiding gun owners are the problem
    2) demonstrate that law abiding gun owners are untrained/disciplined
    3) provide evidence of criminals open carrying
    4) provide evidence of all the collateral shootings you claim

    etc. etc, etc etc……..

  • Wfeather1942

This is what the few anti gunterds at Hays want for law abiding gun owners, to be disarmed fish in a barrel, easy pickings for the democrats favorite wealth redistribution programs!

  • Wfeather1942

  • Wfeather1942

You have stated your point emphatically: guns are good. Please stop spamming links. Also, this isn’t me arguing with you, please save yourself the time, don’t say I’m an antigunterd, and i have no intention of getting into an argument over government statistics. The only point I’m making is that you are spamming unnecessarily. And yes I agree that guns are good, so save the rest of your insults.

      • Wfeather1942

So you really arent my VA doctors who have cleared me for over 2 1/2 decades, whew, glad thats out of the way……….SNARK!

          • Wfeather1942

Holy cow, your still a dumfukk even using a different account name!

  • do not print

The great lesson here….we who carry do so in the context and environment of the sheeples. Even though we are there to protect ourselves and the sheeples, they know not have a clue, wont’ care, and shouldn’t know we are there. The conclusion, in order to protect ourselves and them, make sure when you carry, DO NOT PRINT. Too bad, but that is the way it is. Even in do not carry zones, this is the solution. You will never convince them, just do what you need to do!

  • Yahooseriois

I’m beginning to wonder. Is wfeather1942 a liberal? Instigating furver on the lefts behalf? Im a leftie. All I can say is if he is, I don’t condone this type of behavior from a fellow leftie. Is he true to his word? Well then I’m packing as well “brother”.

Your a scary cat, man. Cross my path and you’ll have more than 7 years bad luck. Your preaching to the wrong crowd “brother”. Lefties here in Kansas are not anti-gun.

    • Wfeather1942

Aw, we see another ignorant wack-a-loon anti gunterd try their pathetic hand at Saul Alinskies Rule #5, demonize and attack that which you cant prove wrong!

Since a few extremist lefties infer, blame, insult, demonize, lie pathologically and make a general arsch of themselves, you are now complaining you dont like being lumped in with them?

Why is that, your silence in not telling your extremist komrades to STFU about their BS just confirms you agree with them we see!

Isnt it true that since one of you commits a crime, all are guilty……where have we seen that done….oh wait, anti gunterds do that to pro rights people all the time.

So maybe, for once, maybe you should clean your own house and tell your extremist komrades to STFU, cause until they do, we will treat you all, as they treat us, capiche MORON!
