Russell/Victoria advances in 4A DII baseball

Russell/Victoria advances to the semifinals in 4A Division II after an 11-2 win over Wichita’s Trinity Academy Thursday in Pratt.

The sixth-seeded Broncos jumped out to the early lead, scoring three in the first then added two in the third, three in the fourth and three in the sixth.

Taylor Rome goes all seven and picks up the win, allowing six hits while striking out nine.

Kaden Rohr had three of their 14 hits including a double and triple.

Russell/Victoria improves to 15-8 and will play the No. 7 seed Bishop Ward from Kansas City at 1:30 Friday afternoon. The Cyclones upset the No. 2 seed Burlington 12-2.

Perry-Lecompton and Baxter Springs were the winners on the other half of the bracket and will play at 11am Friday.
