HILL CITY — Kansas State Research and Extension will offer a tractor and farm safety course from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3 at the Graham County Fairgrounds.

The course is designed for youth ages 14 to 15 who will be doing farm work this summer for pay.

This is a basic course guided by child labor laws that allow youngsters under 16 the opportunity to work on farms. The course will cover basic farm and machinery safety and machine maintenance.

A pre-registration fee of $15 is due April 28 to your local Extension office. This includes refreshment breaks, lunch and a student manual. The early registration is important in order for the youth to get the manual and do some preparation homework before the class is held.

To register in Ellis County, call (785) 628-9430.
