Wayne Joseph Augustine

Wayne Joseph Augustine, age 73, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at his home in Hays, Kansas.

He was born October 4, 1940, in Hays, Kansas, to Michael and Anna (Weaver) Augustine.  He married Ann (Leiker) on March 31, 1962, in Hays, Kansas.

He was a retired electrician, and U.S. Navy veteran. He lived most of his life in Hays, Kansas, and was a member of the Hays American Legion and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church both of Hays, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Augustine, of the home; two sons, Don Augustine and wife, Kim, Russell, KS; Darin Augustine and wife, Jill, Wichita, KS; one daughter, Dianne Lindeman and husband, Dean, Gilbert AZ; two brothers, Harold “Gus” Augustine and wife, Vera, Hays, KS; Kenneth Augustine and wife, Barbara, of OK;  three sisters, Betty Flannery; Valarie Ader; Velma Hornet; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Augustine, Hays, KS; Mary Augustine, Shawnee, KS; one brother-in-law, George Pfeifer; seven grandchildren, Nick Augustine; Alexis, Tristen, Samatha, Aiden and Mallory Lindeman; and Chloe Augustine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Keith Alan Augustine; one granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Augustine; two brothers, Leroy “Dick” Augustine; Mike Augustine; two sisters, Mary Ann Dreiling; Jeanie Pfeifer; one infant brother, Dale Augustine; and one infant sister, Marjorie Augustine.

Services are 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Cline’s Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601, with a flag presentation by the Hays V.F.W.

A visitation is from 9:30 to 11:00 A. M. Saturday, at Cline’s Mortuary of Hays.

Memorials are to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or Hospice of Hays Medical Center.
