Anna Catherine (Brown) Jacobs

GORHAM — Anna Catherine (Brown) Jacobs, age 89, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Russell Regional Hospital, Russell, Kansas.

She was born November 2,1924, in Victoria, Kansas, to Nicholas and Marianna (Dreiling) Brown.

She married Robert G. Jacobs on September 16,1946, at Gorham, Kansas. He died October 29, 2004.

She was a homemaker and attended school at Rock Ridge north of Gorham, Kansas. She worked at the Gorham Train Depot during WW II. Her life was spent taking care of her family and enjoying her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Charles Circle Daughters of Isabella both of Gorham, Kansas.

Survivors include two sons, Tim Jacobs and wife, Karla, Parachute, Co; Leon Jacobs and wife, Debbie, Ellsworth, KS.; four daughters: Judy Corley, Gorham, KS; Marie Hartwick, Ellsworth, KS; Theresa Garnhart and husband, Kevin, Elbert, CO; Jerri Wulff and husband, Mike, Clinton, MN; one sister, Laverna Schulte, Hill City, Ks; one brother-in-law, Berno Jacobs, Gorham, Ks; three sisters-in-law, Bertha Brown, Walker, KS; Arlene Brown, WaKeeney, KS; Genevieve Jacobs, Russell, Ks;
14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter-in-law, Marsha Jacobs; one son-in-law, Rocky Corley; six brothers, Celestine Brown, Ed Brown, John Brown, Tony Brown, Rich Brown, William Brown; three sisters, Catherine Riedel, Mary Brungardt, Clara Hollandsworth; and one grandson, Wyatt Halde.

Services are 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 31, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gorham, Kansas.  Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gorham, Kansas.

A Daughters of Isabella rosary is at 6:30 P.M. Sunday, followed by a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, both at Cline’s Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, Kansas 67671.

Visitation is from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday, at Cline’s Mortuary Victoria, Kansas, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Monday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Gorham ,Kansas.
