KFIX Rock News: KISS’ Gene Simmons Guest Stars On “CSI” Tonight

Gene Simmons will guest-star in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, set to air this week.  The KISS singer/bassist will play — guess what? — a rock star on the crime drama, accused of murder.  In the hammy trailer for the show, Simmons is questioned by detectives for slaying a groupie and growls, “If you think I’m a killer, you can kiss my…”

This won’t be the first time Simmons has played himself on a TV show.  Besides starring in the long-running A&E reality series Gene Simmons Family Jewels, he also made guest appearances in episodes of Ugly Betty and Castle.  In addition, his voice has been featured in several episodes of Family Guy.

KISS fans may do well to hope that this doesn’t mark Simmons’ desire to return to an acting career.  His band mate Paul Stanley recently griped to Guitar World that Gene’s wanting to pursue acting in the ’80s amounted to “questionable activities” that left Paul feeling “lonely and stress[ed.]”

Simmons’ CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode airs this Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT.
