KFIX Rock News: Janis Joplin Musical Leaves Broadway

janmusinNEW YORK (AP) – A musical about Janis Joplin is ending its run on Broadway. But its producers hope to keep the show in town – as an off-Broadway show.

The musical “A Night With Janis Joplin” will close its run at the Lyceum Theatre next month.

But producers are looking at moving the show elsewhere in midtown Manhattan.

If that works out, the play will reopen in March. The show opened October 10.

But the theater managed to stay somewhat full only because the tickets have been heavily discounted.
