Monday fire ravages Osborne seed facility
OSBORNE — A fire Monday caused extensive damage to the Star Seed Warehouse in Osborne.
Firefighters responded to the scene shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday. It took crews nearly four hours to bring the fire under control.
The cause is still under investigation. Osborne Police said there is a very large loss to equipment and material inside the locally owned company, which processes seed for crops.
No injuries were reported. The warehouse was in full production at the time the fire started with about 15 employees inside. The company employs 25 people.
The state Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the cause of the fire.
