KFIX Rock News: Black Sabbath Remasters Early Catalog For iTunes

sabbathmain2Black Sabbath finally has made its entire catalog of studio albums featuring original frontman Ozzy Osbourne available for purchase as digital downloads in the U.S.

The albums, spanning from the influential heavy metal band’s 1970 debut through 1978′s Never Say Day!, have been remastered especially for iTunes.

In addition to Black Sabbath’s 1970s studio efforts, two classic compilations from the group — 1976′s We Sold Our Soul for Rock ‘n’ Roll and 2006′s Greatest Hits 1970-1978 – are being sold.

Also, a newly-created digital box set titled The Complete Studio Albums 1970-1978 that gathers together the band’s first eight records can be purchased at iTunes.

“It’s about f**king time the first eight Black Sabbath albums were made available on iTunes in the U.S.,” says Osbourne in a statement.

Adds guitarist Tony Iommi, “Great news, been a long time trying to explain to fans why the music wasn’t available.”

As previously reported, Black Sabbath will launch a new North American tour leg in support of its chart-topping 2013 album, 13, on March 31 in Brooklyn, New York.  The trek, which will visit mostly Canadian cities, will wind down with an April 26 show in Los Angles.
