KFIX Rock News: Two Members Leaving Allman Brothers Band

Allman LogoLOS ANGELES (AP) – Two members of the Allman Brothers Band are leaving the group.

Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks are say they will depart at the end of the year.

A statement from the band says the guitarists are leaving to spend more time with their families – and work on their other musical projects.

Haynes joined the group in 1989, and Trucks became a member in 1999.

The departure of Haynes and Trucks leaves the band with singer-keyboardist Gregg Allman, drummers Jaimoe Johanson and Butch Trucks, percussionist Marc Quinones, and bass player Oteil Burbridge.

The Allman Brothers Band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.
