KFIX Rock News: CBS’ “Late Show” Wants To Reunite Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr
Roger Friedman of Showbiz411.com says producers of the Late Show with David Letterman have been in contact with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr about the possibility of them performing on the program on at least one night during the week of February 3.
Friedman adds that the two surviving Beatles members could be asked to perform on February 7, to mark the 50th anniversary of the day the Fab Four arrived in America for the first time.
The Late Show, which reportedly plans to have a Beatles theme that entire week, tapes in New York City at the Ed Sullivan Theater, where the Beatles made their historic first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show back on February 9, 1964.
CBS is already producing a special tied to the 50th anniversary of that performance. It will be taped January 27 and air on February 9, and will feature the Eurythmics, Maroon 5, John Mayer, Alicia Keys and others.
