KFIX Rock News: Judge Rejects Lawsuit Against Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee
Motley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee can continue playing his 360-degree drum roller coaster because a judge has rejected a lawsuit filed by man who claimed Lee stole the concept, TMZ.com reports.
In September 2012, engineer Howard Scott King filed a lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, claiming he pitched the idea for the drum roller coaster to Lee in 1991, and that the drummer stole his idea for Motley Crüe’s 2011 tour.
According to TMZ, the judge has determined that King never had exclusive rights to the roller coaster drum idea and Lee designed his version on his own.
King had reportedly sought at least $400,000 in damages.
