KFIX Rock News: Original KISS Members React To Rock Hall Induction

kissbwNEW YORK (AP) – Peter Criss says he wants Kiss to be known as “four guys from New York City who brought Barnum & Bailey into rock and roll.”

He says the group was founded on the idea that their live shows would “give people a hell of a lot more for their money.”

He says once Kiss raised the bar for live performances, that is something that is “going to stand forever.”

The band’s original guitarist, Ace Frehley, says the news of the induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was a boost for him personally.

It came just days after his home in suburban New York was gutted by fire.

He says while he’s sad about his house, the news about the Rock Hall “will lift my spirits.”

Meanwhile, on the KISS website, leaders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley both acknowledged the band’s “army” of fans, with Simmons also giving thanks to group members past and present, including fellow founders Frehley and Criss.
