KFIX Rock News: Bon Jovi #1 On “Billboard” Magazine’s List Of Top 25 Tour List Of 2013

bonjBon Jovi owned the road in 2013.  The New Jersey rockers’ Because We Can trek was by far the most successful tour of the year, according to Billboard.

The band’s outing brought in an impressive $205,158,370 in gross earnings in 2013 and sold out all 90 of its dates.

Also finishing high up on Billboard‘s Top 25 Tours list for the past year is another group from New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, who landed in fourth place after bringing in $147,608,938.

Other classic-rock artist tours that scored spots on the tally include The Rolling Stones, who finished in sixth place after earning $126,182,391; ex-Pink Floyd mastermind Roger Waters, who came in at #11 after his The Wall Live Tour grossed $81,305,650; Paul McCartney, whose trek brought in $69,584,403 to place him at #16; and Fleetwood Mac, who were 17th on the list after their concerts made $61,899,473.

Rounding out the tally at #25 was Iron Maiden, who earned $44,980,749.

Billboard‘s top tours list was determined from Billboard Boxscore figures compiled from November 14, 2012, to November 12, 2013.
