Former deputy to serve life sentence out of Kansas

seacat(AP) — A former Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputy sentenced to life for murdering his wife has been moved to a prison outside Kansas.

Kansas Department of Corrections spokesman Jeremy Barclay said on Monday that Brett Seacat has been transferred to an out-of-state prison. Barclay says Seacat’s transfer follows a protocol aimed at preventing inmates with law enforcement backgrounds from serving time with inmates they may have had a role in sending to prison.

Barclay says the location of the prison where the 37-year-old Seacat was sent hasn’t been released because of safety concerns.

Seacat was sentenced in August for first-degree murder and other charges in the 2011 death of his wife, 34-year-old Vashti Seacat, and for setting a fire that destroyed their home while their two children were inside.

Let the inmates tear this POS to shreads, 1st a cop and then a child/wife murderer.
