KFIX Rock News: Heart Records Two New Holiday Songs

heartsisin2Heart already is getting into the holiday spirit by releasing to radio a pair of new Christmas-themed tunes that the band recorded with help from two distinct and distinctive popular singers.

The first song is a rendition of the 1960 yuletide classic “Please Come Home for Christmas” featuring frontwoman Ann Wilson duetting with Aaron Neville.

“I have loved Aaron Neville’s amazing, soulful voice since I was a teenager, and it is a great blessing to get this opportunity to sing a duet with him,” says Ann.  “He truly has a gift, and is a sweet person.  It shows on this track.”

The tune was written and originally recorded by blues singer Charles Brown, while the Eagles, Bon Jovi and Neville himself also have done their own versions.

The second track is an updated take on the old Welsh folk tune “All Through the Night,” with Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson singing lead and ’80s pop star Richard Marx delivering backing vocals.

Both songs were produced by multiple Grammy winner Emilio Estefan, husband of Gloria Estefan.  The tracks will be available for purchase Tuesday (11/12).
