KFIX Rock News: Doobie Brothers, 38 Special Part Of Lineup For Next Rock Legends Cruise
A third installment of the star-studded Rock Legends Cruise currently is being organized but fans interested in setting sailing on the musical sea voyage will have to wait a bit.
The rocking cruise is scheduled to embark from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 19, 2015 — not 2014 — and will stop off in Nassau in the Bahamas before making its way back to port on the February 23.
Meanwhile, an initial lineup has been announced for the nautical extravaganza, led by The Doobie Brothers.
Other artists confirmed to perform include 38 Special, Blue Oyster Cult, Edgar Winter, The Marshall Tucker Band, ex-Allman Brothers Band singer/guitarist Dickey Betts and his group Great Southern, Uriah Heep, Savoy Brown and Pat Travers Band.
Additional artists will be added to the bill in the coming months. In all, the cruise will feature more than 50 separate performances.
The trip also will feature meet-and-greets, Q&A sessions, as well as such activities as onboard surfing, basketball, boxing, golf, rock-climbing and gourmet and casual dining.
Proceeds raised by the Rock Legends Cruise III will help support the Native American Heritage Association.
