County Drug Unit Collects Unwanted Drugs

pills.jpgOver 9,730 pounds of unwanted and out of date medication were collected at 103 locations in Kansas as part of the national Take Back Day Initiative this past Saturday.

According to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department, the County Drug Enforcement Unit Collected 141 pounds of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications on Saturday.

Take-Back Day is organized by the federal Drug Enforcement Association to prevent abuse and theft by clearing homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs.
