KFIX Rock News: Former Van Halen Bassist Rates The New One

anthonyinIn an interview with “For Bass Players Only“, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony updated fans on the status of Chickenfoot, his line of hot sauces and his new Peavey VB-MA Signature Amp.

He also included thoughts on Wolfgang Van Halen, his replacement in his former band.

“I think he’s a great kid,” said Anthony.

“I mean, obviously, I’ve known him since he was born. He’s a great musician. He’s a great bass player. He plays drums, guitar, bass and sings.”

“His dad, Ed, wanted his son to play with him, so you know, that’s, you know, totally great,” he continued.

“I mean, I found out that he was going to be playing bass [in Van Halen] with everybody else…when they did their press conference. I wished him luck in a couple interviews I did, and hopefully he read those.”

Anthony recently wrapped up a tour with Sammy Hagar as part of the Four Decades Of Rock tour, which included material from Hagar’s career – from Montrose, to solo, to Van Halen, and beyond.
