FHSU Women’s Basketball Receiving Votes in Preseason Poll

Three MIAA teams are ranked in the initial Women’s Basketball Preseason poll. Emporia State, who won the MIAA post-season tournament is the highest ranked team coming in at #5 in the nation. Central Missouri has been picked in the #8 spot in the preseason top 25. Washburn, who won the regular season crown in 2012-13, has been picked 22nd overall by the nation’s coaches. Pittsburg State, Northeastern State and Fort Hays State also received votes in the poll released today.

The Lady Tigers are coming off a 22-7 season a year ago, finishing fifth in the MIAA at 12-6. They are picked fourth in both the MIAA coaches and media preseason rankings. They open with an exhibition game at Creighton on Monday, November 4th. They open the season Wednesday, November 13th at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
