KFIX Rock News: Gregg Allman Tribute Taking Shape

2011 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Presented By Shell - Day 5ATLANTA (AP) – Think of it as a musical bouquet for Gregg Allman – prepared while he can still enjoy them.

A group of music stars are banding together to pay tribute in song to Gregg Allman.

The event is set for January 10 at Atlanta’s Fox Theater. The show will be filmed for later release.

Others appearing in “All My Friends: Celebrating the Songs & Voice of Gregg Allman” include Natalie Cole, Jackson Brown, Pat Monahan of Train, Trace Adkins and Martina McBride.

Gregg Allman was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 2007 – and he and Natalie Cole have been advocates for awareness about the liver disease.

Both continue to perform.
