The Fort Hays State women’s golf team finished 12th at the MIAA Fall Preview Tournament held at Whitmoor Country Club in St. Charles, Mo., October 21-22. The Tigers were eighth out of the nine MIAA teams competing at the designated fall event for the conference in women’s golf.
Megan DeWerff led the way for FHSU with rounds of 83 and 86, tying for 31st with a total of 169. Samantha Hobson shot rounds of 94 and 83 for a total of 177, tying for 50th. Natalie Bethel had rounds of 94 and 100, finishing 71st, and Quillen Eichhorn had rounds of 94 and 100 to tie for 75th. Kaycee Beilman also played and shot rounds of 99 and 96.
The Tigers shot 726 as a team over two rounds. Central Oklahoma won the tournament with a total of 620. They were 21 strokes ahead of the next MIAA finisher, Northeastern State. Bethany Darrough of Central Oklahoma won the tournament with rounds of 73 and 79.
This tournament concludes the fall portion of the women’s golf schedule for FHSU.
