The Fort Hays State Tigers scored two touchdowns off of interceptions and had a 94-yard fumble return set up another score as they roll to a 56-14 win over Southwest Baptist Saturday afternoon at Lewis Field. The win is the Tigers third straight and improves them to 3-4 on the season and 2-4 in the MIAA. SBU falls to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in conference play. The 56 points is the most for FHSU since their season-opener in 2007 when they scored 55 on Western State.

The game turned early in the the third quarter. Southwest Baptist returned an Ed Smith fumble to the Tiger four. On fourth and goal from the one, Michael Terry recovered a fumble in the endzone and returned it to the SBU six, setting up a three-yard TD run from Ed Smith to push the lead to 28-7 with 11:27 in the third. Terry finished with a career-hgih 16 tackles. Nathan Lindsey and Shane Smith both returned interceptions for touchdowns in the second half.
Quarterback Treveon Albert completed 7 of 10 passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 60 yards and a score before leaving in the second quarter with a hip injury. Backup Edin Kovac completed 6 of 7 passes for 57 yards. Andre Smith led the Tigers with 80 yards rushing on 19 carries and a touchdown. Edward Smith added 71 yards and two touchdowns. Keaton Callins had five catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. Ed Williams added a 51 yard touchdown reception.
