Two Arrested in Drug Bust

The Wakeeney Police Department have arrested two individuals as part of a drug bust. Police Chief Terry Eberle told Hays Post a tip from an informant led to an investigation by officers. As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Wakeeney and two suspects were arrested.

James Douglas Smith and Barbara Sue Farber were arrested on multiple drug charges including Cultivation & distribution of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school.  Chief Eberle says that each suspect is being held on $150,000 bond in the Trego County Jail.

Chief Eberle added that this case is leading to additional, separate investigations but he was unable to comment on those at this time.

Wow, they look sooooooo dangerous…we need to change our laws.

    • hmmmm

Change our laws to what? Who cares if they look dangerous or not they were making, growing, and/or doing drugs by a school. To me that sounds pretty darn dangerous to me.

          yeah whats your point

      • Yahooserious

        1. I doubt you can get 1000 feet from a school in Wakeeney unless you leave town.
        2. Meth is definitely bad, don’t want it around my kids to be sure
        3. who gives a crap about pot. End the d*mn prohibition era laws that punish everyday people.
        4. Alcohol is a drug. I bet I can drink a 5th of whiskey across the street from a school and never get in trouble. Get them for meth, drop the weed charges…

        • NOYFB

          1. that is the point on the 1000 feet from the school
          4. so is coffee
