sabwowardinBill Ward, original drummer for Black Sabbath, is recovering following recent surgery for a perforated diverticulitis.

The surgery was successful and Ward is expected to make a full recovery over the next several weeks.

Because of the surgery, Ward was forced to postpone his “Absence Of Corners” reception at the Annapolis Collection Gallery in Maryland on October 26th.

“I am truly sorry that I have to postpone the Absence of Corners gallery reception,” posted Ward on his webpage.

“The feedback I have received from everyone about this project has been astounding, and I was so looking forward to this event. I want to thank the Annapolis Collection Gallery for everything they are doing.”

“I am honored that they are exhibiting my art, and I hope to get there to celebrate this collection with you all very soon.”

The gallery and Ward will decide on a the future date for the showing which will allow him time for a complete recovery.

The event was to have been the first U.S. showcasing of Ward’s collection of fine art created from rhythm.

The collection can be viewed here.

Due to a contractual dispute, Ward declined to participate in Sabbath’s reunion tour and album,“13”.
