DISTRICT TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
Qualifications: NATURE OF WORK: The District Technology Operations Coordinator oversees and maintains district technology, computers, and networks in top condition to ensure full and productive use of district technology. To accomplish these tasks, the District Technology Operations Coordinator must work closely with the staff and administration of USD 489. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: – High School diploma or equivalent. – A college degree in computer science or related field preferred but not required OR equivalent experience in data processing or information system management required. – Experience with emerging technologies and networks. – 3-5 years minimum networking experience. – 3-5 years minimum experience working with wireless networks. – Knowledge of operating system software, file servers, local- and wide-area networks, Microsoft Windows operating systems, web sites, network related equipment, phone systems, and backup/security systems. – Desire to continue career improvement. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: • Bending, pushing, moving, lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. • Hearing and speaking to exchange information and to make presentations. • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time, and seeing to read, analyze and review documents. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: – General knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components of local and wide area networks, Internet, intranets, and distributed learning. – General knowledge of software packages necessary to coordinate business office, human resources management and building-level management functions. – Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of school system staff. -Ability to assist users and trainers with software and hardware direction, guidance, and vision-setting. – Ability to establish evaluation strategies and implement formative and summative evaluation activities. – Ability to train educators in the use of hardware and software. – Ability to lead technology planning efforts including activities to develop, implement, and evaluate both system and school technology plans. – Ability to manage financial resources. – Ability to work in an environment subject to constant interruptions.
Hours: 8 AM to 5 PM
Salary: Annual salary rate as determined by the Board of Education
