Teen injured in 3 vehicle crash

Three people were injured in a 3 vehicle crash north of Great Bend on Monday. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol 14-year KHPold Kira Cook of Great Bend was northbound on highway 281. After stopping to make a turn into a private drive approximately 6 miles north of Great Bend, Cook was hit from behind by 24-year old Shane Stevenson of Great Bend.

Cook’s vehicle entered the southbound lane and struck a vehicle driven by 30-year old Michael Wells of Great Bend. Cook’s vehicle came to rest on the passenger side and Wells entered the west ditch.

Cook was transported to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington while Wells and Stevenson were transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital where their condition remains unknown.

According to the Highway Patrol, all three drivers were wearing their seat belts.
