KFIX Rock News: Bon Jovi Drummer Undergoes Emergency Appendectomy, Shows Canceled

ticoinNEW YORK (AP) – A medical emergency has forced Bon Jovi fans in three countries to make other plans.

The band has postponed shows in Mexico City, Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina because drummer Tico Torres had an emergency appendectomy.

The surgery was done Tuesday in Mexico City. That forced the group to scrub that night’s show in Mexico City.

Jon Bon Jovi says in a Facebook post that the band will stay with Torres until he’s out of the hospital – and that the band is sorry to fans who have been inconvenienced.

The group will pick up the tour a week from tomorrow with a show in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil – before making up the missed shows in Mexico City, Santiago and Buenos Aires.

Bon Jovi’s full message can be seen at the band’s Facebook page here.
