KFIX Rock News: Rock Hall To Hold Symposium On Rolling Stones

stonestouCLEVELAND (AP) – The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland will spend a week exploring just why the Rolling Stones are who they are.

They will be the focus of the Rock Hall’s Annual Music Masters series beginning October 21. It will feature interviews, panels, films, educational programs and a conference on the Stones’ impact on popular music.

“We are very excited to expand the stories we tell in the Music Masters program,” says Rock Hall executive Lauren Onkey.

“Rock and roll caught fire around the world, and we want to reflect that in this program.  The Rolling Stones were inspired by so many great American artists in creating their own original brand of rock and roll — it’s an incredible story.”

A tribute concert will be held October 26.

The Rock Hall has been running an exhibit on the Stones to mark the band’s 50th anniversary this year.
