KFIX Rock News: Doobie Brothers To Play Benefit For Cancer Care Facility

doobsinThe Doobie Brothers will help raise money for the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore by headlining a special concert in the city this fall.

The veteran rockers’ October 12 show at the Lyric Opera House will serve as the 2013 installment of the annual One Night, One Show, One Cause Benefit hosted by Paul Reed Smith Guitars.

Fans who purchase VIP passes to the event will get to attend a pre-concert party that will include a meet-and-greet with The Doobie Brothers and an auction featuring guitars autographed by Carlos Santana and Slash.

Since it was first held in 2000, the One Night, One Show, One Cause event has brought in more than $2.5 million for the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center’s Living with Cancer Resource Program.

The initiative offers free supportive care and education to cancer patients and their families.
