First Ever Batting for Law Enforcement

Wives Behind the Badge held their first ever “Batting for Law Enforcement” softball tournament on Saturday at the Bickle Schmidt Sports Complex in Hays.

Four teams took part in the fund raising tournament. Ellis County Sheriff Office, Kansas Highway Patrol, Stockton Police Department and a team mixed with social workers from St. Francis and others made up the fourth team.

The winning team had a choice of donating to a law enforcement program or Catholic Charities or any other church.

Wives Behind the Badge was started in February of 2013 and they are hoping to make the tournament bigger with more sponsors next year.
