Free Health Screens Continue

ANNIE TAKING TESTAs part of National Health Center Week, the Hays Lions Club, in partnership with First Care Clinic and Walgreens, is  providing free community health screenings.

More than 140 people participated Thursday, according to Hays Lions Club member Jim Huenergarde who coordinated the event.

The screenings provide information about blood glucose/diabetes risk, blood pressure, dental health, vision acuity and field of vision, and hearing.  The tests are done inside a large air-conditioned trailer in the northwest corner of Walgreens parking lot.HEALTH SCREEN

Everyone ages 6 months and up is invited to participate.  Screenings are offered until 2p.m. this afternoon.

“We’ll definitely do this again next year,” says Huenergarde.  “We were hoping for 100-125 people, and we’re way past that number.”
