KFIX Rock News: Peter Frampton Featured On New Symphonic Tribute To Fleetwood Mac
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Plays Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours is a song-by-song reimagining of the 11-track album that the 50-plus-member symphony recorded at London’s famed Abbey Road studios.
Making a special guest appearance on the album is Peter Frampton, who lends his talents to the closing track, “Gold Dust Woman.” Also featured is award-winning British singer and steel guitarist Sarah Jory.
“Rumours was such an important album in terms of both songwriting and production,” says James Graydon, who co-arranged the tribute album with Richard Cottle.
“Although we were mindful of the fact that these songs are very well known, we decided to approach the arrangements from a slightly different perspective to make it work in the orchestral world.”
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Plays Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, which is available for purchase now, is the latest in a series of albums in which the symphony has reinterpreted the music of well-known rock artists.
