The issue of WATER is not critical enough to be a permit agenda item? I have noticed the bank at 22nd & Vine has nice new sod this afternoon…looks like blue or maybe a thin blade fescue. I am sure it is most likely a new hybrid that requires water once per month for 15 minutes :).

  • Uncle Thomas

How about the enforcement of current water ordinances?
What happened to the sidewalk inspections?
What happened to the alley right away bush, shrub, tree trimming crisis?

  • Uncle Thomas

East 27th street this morning more wasted water…dental office and those surrounding.

  • Viper

The street gutters were running full of water at the New Commerce Bank this morning.
    What a waste!

    • WeeTodd

Still running full @ 5:30 in the afternoon, the hottest part of the day. I would ASSUME they will be getting a water-use violation.

  • Uncle Thomas

    I must be dreaming…
I take a break to police the city streets and what do I see…more wasted water!
I see city workers with large water tanks on the back of trucks delivering water to plants in area parks…oh I understand the need for watering the investment of new shade trees, but two workers per truck? Oil field water trucks only use one operator per truck. Wait a minute I am comparing the effieciency of private business v. public tax payer dollars…shame on me.
Then while driving by south McD’s I see multiple city trucks driving through McD’s for lunch. Why are they not returning to the city shop only a few blocks away and driving their personal vehicles to lunch? If they should have an accident on personal time does the taxpayer pay for it? Of course we do…!
The city continues to allow water to be wasted, wastes employ man hours, wastes fuel in these trucks by allowing for personal use, wastes…

  • Uncle Thomas

City of Hays is there a policy regarding workers using city vehicles for lunch?

    • BB

I see the same thing. I think all city employers have a city vehicle. What a waste and 2 people in the truck. No wonder they can drive the alleys and tell you what you can park in the alley or can’t. They need high paying jobs cut in half. They need more workers and less big wheels they have to many of them doing nothing.

      • what was the problem?

High paying jobs? Whay city are you talking about? Maybe you are lost Thomas is talking about the City of Hays. Unless you are, refering to the heads of the departments.

  • Uncle Thomas

Hello is anyone home at the city?

    • WeeTodd

No, they ALL out to lunch. At our expense, of course.
