KFIX Rock News: John Lennon’s First Car To Hit Auction Block
The first car John Lennon ever purchased is slated to be auctioned in Chichester, England, next month.
But driving the Ferrari sporty blue 330-GT won’t come cheap — it’s estimated to sell for between $270,000 and $340,000.
The late Beatles legend was 24 years old when he bought the vehicle in early 1965, shortly after getting his license.
He eventually ran up some 20,000 miles on it before selling it in October 1967. The car changed hands a few times since, and its current owner had it fully restored in the late 1990s.
The classic sports car is in mint condition. Included in the sale: the vehicle’s original paperwork, its maintenance history and correspondence with Lennon.
The auction, which is being hosted by Bonhams, will take place July 12.
