KFIX Rock News: AC/DC Singer To Guest On Sting’s New Album
A publicist confirmed the cameo.
The album, due September 24th in North America, is inspired by Sting’s forthcoming play of the same name and explores the central themes of homecoming and self-discovery.
In addition, the disc explores the end of the shipbuilding industry in both musicians’ native Newcastle area. The album is released in September.
Sting has reportedly been working on the play for nearly three years. It’s scheduled to debut on Broadway in 2014.
The album will be available as both a digital and physical release in two formats – a 12-song version and a 2-disc deluxe version featuring 5 additional tracks. The 12-song version will also be available on vinyl.
A super deluxe edition, containing 2-discs comprised of 20 songs, will also be sold as exclusively at Amazon.com. Amazon MP3 will be the exclusive retailer for the 20-track, super deluxe digital edition.
At this time, it’s unknown if Johnson will appear on more than one song.
The album is scheduled to be released in September.
