Hays High Graduation, Blurton Receives Ovation


Graduation 5:15 p.m.  Hays High School honored 191 Seniors on Sunday afternoon. The class of 2013 selected teacher Jill Blurton to deliver the commencement address. Blurton recognized mothers,  told a story of her Junior High coach, now 91, who inspired her, and shared her earliest memories of this year’s class. Her brief remarks received a standing ovation from the Gross Memorial Coliseum audience. Blurton retires from USD 489 this year.

 

 

7 a.m. The Hays High Graduation will take place today for the Hays High Class of 2013.

A Baccalaureate service will be at 12th Street Auditorium at 1: 30 p.m. The commencement will be at 3pm at Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays.

The graduation can be seen online at the Hays High Website at: http://www.hayshighindians.com/media/live-sports.php

It will also be aired on Eagle Cable Channel 13.

DVD’s of the event will be available for purchase for $20 in the Hays High Office by Thursday, May 16th. The DVD will include video from the entire Commencement Ceremony as well as Project Graduation.  Contact the Hays High Office for purchase information at 785-623-2600
