KFIX Rock News: Rock Hall Invites Fans To Contribute To Rolling Stones Exhibit
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum‘s enormous upcoming Rolling Stones exhibition is going interactive.
Opening on May 24, “Rolling Stones: 50 Years of Satisfaction” will cover two-and-a-half floors of Rock Hall’s Cleveland home with photos, film footage, artwork, letters, historic documents, stage costumes, artwork and other artifact, many never before displayed in public.
But for the first time, the museum also will launch a fan-generated interactive exhibition that will populate a multimedia display as part of the physical exhibit, as well as be shown on the Rock Hall’s Facebook page. That virtual exhibit opens May 13.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is asking fans to upload photos of memorabilia, artwork, Rolling Stones concerts and more to Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #rockhallsatisfaction to contribute to the submission feed.
“Rolling Stones: 50 Years of Satisfaction” is expected to run at the Hall until March 2014. A companion exhibit at the Museum’s Library and Archives will focus on the band’s tour production from 1975 to 1981, and will include a set list, photographs, stage drawings, fabric samples, lighting cues and more.
