KFIX Rock News: Beatles Musical Opening On Broadway In July

beatcollageThe Beatles-themed stage musical Let It Be, which currently is running on London’s West End, is getting ready to cross the pond for a Broadway engagement.

According to Playbill.com, the production, which follows the Fab Four from their early days at Cavern Club in Liverpool, England, to the apex of their stardom, will begin previews on July 16 at New York City’s St. James Theater.  The official opening will take place on July 24.

Let It Be will feature a group of talented musicians portraying John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, backed by state-of-the-art projection images and 3D sound.

Among the many classic tunes showcased in the play will be “Twist and Shout,” “She Loves You,” “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude,” “Come Together” and “Let It Be.”  The cast and the creative crew that will oversee the musical will be announced soon.

Let It Be is scheduled to remain at the St. James Theater through December 29.

Tickets will be available for purchase by the general public starting on May 23. More details about the musical can be found at LetItBeBroadway.com.
