The Kansas District of Kiwanis was established on May 7th 1953. Kiwanis members and guests will be gathering together to celebrate the occasion starting at 6:30pm at the Robbins Center on the campus of Fort Hays State University . District Governor Mary Hammond will say a few words a dinner will be served and representatives from around the state will be in attendance.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers, dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. The Kansas District is comprised of 88 Kiwanis clubs making a difference in their communities and in the lives of children. Local Kiwanis projects include “The Breakfast of Champions” at local middle and high schools, supporting the area children’s scholastic accomplishments. The annual Easter Egg Hunt on the campus of FHSU. Kiwanis also supports Big Brothers Big Sisters, CASA, Scouts, First Call For Help, Special Olympics, and the Hays Ministerial Alliance.
