“Thankful for Seatbelts.” Saturday Morning Accident Old Hwy 40

police.jpgEllis County Law Enforcement Authorities are investigating a Saturday morning accident on Old Highway 40 at 140th Avenue. A west bound semi tractor trailer driven by Bob Munsch was making a south turn when it was hit by a Chevy Malibu driven by Dave McDaniel of Ellis.

McDaniel told Eagle News, “I was driving east bound at the 2 mile corner when I approached the semi tractor with his left turn signal on and a couple of vehicles were behind with their turn signals on. The tractor trailer turned right in front of me. There were three of us in my vehicle.”

McDaniel and a female passenger in the car are still  hospitalized. “I’m not sure how long I will be in the hospital. I am thankful for seat belts. Everyone should use them every time they drive,” he said.
